Thomas Mitchell and Sandy Goodman were sweethearts since the ninth grade. Like most couples their age, they had hopes, dreams, and career ambitions. Never did they imagine that their relationship and their faith would be shaken to the point that their hopes and dreams could be shattered. Thomas and Sandy are faced with circumstances beyond their control, and their faith in God is put to the test.

Thomas and Sandy soon realize that God places people in their path who enable them to find the true meaning of faith. God has a game plan for our lives, and it is up to us to execute the plays in God’s playbook.

God’s playbook for our lives was designed from the beginning of time. It does not guarantee a life without hurts and problems, nor does it guarantee perfect bliss. It does promise us a never-ending love from God. It gives us hope when there seems to be no hope. Our lives become a tapestry made of many colors, sewn together, intertwining lives in ways we could never imagine.

Walking by faith is not a process for the faint of heart, nor is it temporal or selective. It is an enduring lifestyle.

Kevin O’Neil Kruise and Kimberly Kruise Thompson, brother and sister, unite to write a compelling story about God’s way of using moments of tragedy and uncertainty to apply His unlimited mercy. Follow along as one young couple come to realize and accept just how little control they have over their lives and how beautiful life can be when they let Him take the reins.

When Kimberly Kruise Thompson and brother Kevin O’Neil Kruise were growing up, they spent many days writing songs and poetry and singing together. When they were barely five, their mother would sit them on the piano bench next to her and teach them to sing together. They sang hymns and other wonderful songs. While she admits that Kevin is the musically gifted one, Kim is thankful for their Christian upbringing and the freedom to express themselves through writing and singing. Kim was thrilled when the idea came to co-write with her brother, as it revived memories of a special time they had shared. Kim now spends her days as a creative writer. You may recognize some of her other books under the pen name of Sunnie Day. Kim retired from nursing after eighteen years, having worked in many areas of the medical field. She is the mother of four grown children and grandmother to five lovely grandchildren. Kim is married to Roy Thompson, and they reside in Texas.

Kevin Kruise served over twenty years in the United States Army and retired in February 2002. He is currently serving as a Department of the Army civilian in the United States Army Operational Test Command at Fort Hood, Texas. He holds a BS degree in History from Drury University and MA degree in Homeland Security from American Military University. Kevin has been married to Evelyn (Estepa) Kruise for over 22 years and has been blessed with four children and multiple grandchildren. Kevin is an active member at Grace Christian Center in Killeen, Texas, and serves on the worship ministry team as a guitarist. He has written many songs, poems, and short stories, but God’s Playbook is his first
published work.
