The van Roekel Family in America
By: John Herbert van Roekel
The Legacy of Dutch immigrants, Jan and Willemina van Roekel … A love story … A true story about overcoming the odds … A story of dreamers leaping out to make their dreams come true … A story of the hardships of millions of immigrants who came to America to seize the opportunities … A story of hard work, achievement, and making a valuable contribution to what is America, a land of opportunity … A story of reaching beyond, in faith, to levels their families would say, even now looking back … it is a remarkable story … What of them have we taken with us? We honor them when we are reasonable risk takers who take a leap of faith and overcome, and when we have faith in the Creator and in ourselves.
