Pirouettes, Pathways, and Prayers
By: Bonni Skipworth
This collection of writings is truly a treasure for those who hunger after the heart of God.
“I suppose you might say this is a mishmash of unexpected, unusual, and unpredictable experiences, encounters, and events,” says Bonni Skipworth, a licensed minister, college professor, and prison chaplain in Nashville. “But is that not how life unfolds, through experiences that bless and break, lift up and lay low, reveal and refine?”
Bonni shares her most intimate encounters with her holy and loving Lord as He teaches her and guides her through life. Her calling is not just to “know the Lord,” but to teach others how to know Him, and know Him intimately.
From “Lessons From Living,” Bonni challenges all:
1. When the Holy Spirit comes to me, am I receptive?
2. When the Holy Spirit convicts me, am I repentant?
3. When the Holy Spirit teaches me, am I listening?
4. When the Holy Spirit wants to glorify God through me, am I willing?
Bonni Skipworth has served as a volunteer minister and teacher at the Tennessee State Prison for Women for over twelve years and teaches in various venues for Bible studies and Christian events. Her career has spanned over 25 years at the Metro Nashville Police Department. Bonni is a licensed minister and also an adjunct professor at two universities in Nashville, teaching Biblical Studies and Biblical Perspectives.
Bonni and husband Howard (Skip) will soon celebrate thirty years of marriage. They are thankful for the blessing of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
