Seventeen-year-old Susan Watkins and Shirley Dupree are kidnapped on their way home from school and become hostages in an abandoned, boarded-up old house. Their parents receive a ransom note indicating they have twenty-four hours to collect one million dollars. With a warning of “no police, or death,” Raymond Dupree, Shirley’s father, calls in the only man he knows he can trust to get the girls back: THE HURRICANE.
What is it about the abandoned house? Who is trying to send them a message? The twists and turns in this story will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

Samuel James Rufus was born part Shoshone Indian, part Italian. He was taught how to hunt and track by his Shoshone warrior family in Nevada, and he was trained how to fight and kill by the Green Berets. After six years in the Army, Sam joined forces with the New York detective squad. Just when he thought his days of fighting were over, he was called upon to help out two old friends in New York. Dire circumstances forced him to return to the fierceness he once knew in the Army-an eye for an eye, a life for a life. This is when he earned the nickname “Hurricane.” Now working as a private investigator, Sam is often called in when nothing else will work. When necessary, he leaves destruction in his wake in order to save lives.
Joseph Cacciotti grew up in Racine, Wisconsin, along the shores of Lake Michigan. His desire to write appeared early in life when his high school teachers encouraged him to write poetry and to become a journalist. His drive to write fiction grew stronger as he matured, and today he is a prolific writer of fiction and poetry.
Joe made a promise to his friend and mentor, Harold A. Schink on his deathbed. Harold asked Joe to never stop writing. Joe has been faithful to that promise. In 2006, he published Poems for the Heart, fifty of his most talked about poems, and Blue Collar Real Estate Mogul, a biography based on true life experiences that he and his best friend endured as landlords in Racine and about a friendship that never stopped growing, even after death. Joe’s latest work, Poems for the Heart, Volume II, was been released in April 2012.
Hurricane Rocks Wisconsin is the second in a SERIES about Samuel James Rufus, an unconventional detective whose methods for getting the bad guys come close to crossing ethical and legal lines in his pursuit of justice. The first book reveals how Sam got the name “Hurricane.” What has not been revealed yet is the dark side of the Hurricane, just how devious he can be when lives are in serious danger. Every story reveals more about the Hurricane. At times, you might ask yourself who the real bad guys are in the story. Sometimes, something more evil than the devil himself is called upon to save lives, especially the lives of children.
