#1 in the Hurricane Series
Meet Samuel James Rufus, the son of a Shoshone Indian mother and an Italian career-military-turned-lawman father. From his beginning on a Nevada Indian reservation, Sam was physically and mentally agile. As a teenager in New York, he got in trouble with the law and was forced to decide his own fate–jail or the army. After six years in the United States Army that included an unprecedented rise to service as a Green Beret, Sam returned to New York to help his ailing father and joined forces with the detective squad in New York City. Just when Sam thought his days of fighting were over, he is called upon to help out an old friend from his youth. Dire circumstances in the family of one of New York’s finest forces him to return to the fierceness he once knew in the Army–an eye for an eye, a life for a life. This is the case that earned Sam the nickname, “Hurricane.” The Hurricane books are popular with women as well as men.

JosephCacciottiJoseph Cacciotti grew up in Racine, Wisconsin, along the shores of Lake Michigan. His desire to write appeared early in life when his high school teachers encouraged him to write poetry and to become a journalist. His drive to write fiction grew stronger as he matured, and today he is a prolific writer of fiction and poetry.

Joe made a promise to his friend and mentor, Harold A. Schink on his deathbed. Harold asked Joe to never stop writing. Joe has been faithful to that promise. In 2006, he published Poems for the Heart, fifty of his most talked about poems, and Blue Collar Real Estate Mogul, a biography based on true life experiences that he and his best friend endured as landlords in Racine and about a friendship that never stopped growing, even after death. Poems for the Heart, Volume II was been released in April 2012. My Best Friend, Buddy is his first published children’s book.

Hurricane Cores the Big Apple is the first in a SERIES about Samuel James Rufus, an unconventional detective whose methods for getting the bad guys come close to crossing ethical and legal lines in his pursuit of justice. The first book reveals how Sam got the name “Hurricane.” What has not been revealed yet is the dark side of the Hurricane, just how devious he can be when lives are in serious danger. Every story reveals more about the Hurricane. At times, you might ask yourself who the real bad guys are in the story. Sometimes, something more evil than the devil himself is called upon to save lives, especially the lives of children.
